In 2017 COPFS commissioned MLA to prepare a design proposal for the rationalisation and redevelopment of their existing offices in Airdrie.

The project involved the fit out of an existing Office Suite and space planning for 70 staff.

The Estates Working Group requested that the new design incorporated spaces for Future Ways of Working (FWOW), including the flexibility to work from home, or a different office. This included an environment that is welcoming for every and any COPFS member of staff and every visitor, including Criminal Justice partners and the public.

MLA developed a modern open-plan design where work is completed in a variety of appropriately designed, shared settings and not tethered to specific workstations or location within the building. Flexibility within the design allows for certain areas to be used for different purposes e.g. training, team-briefings, collaboration etc.
