Value: £2.0m
Listing: Grade B
Date Complete: 2020

In 2019 SCTS commissioned MLA to supervise and detail external stone and roof repair work to the Grade B Listed Courthouse in Dumbarton. The Listed Building was built in the early 19th Century with a distinctive Roman Doric-columned and pedimented porch with a round headed door behind.

The refurbishment involved very extensive stone, lead gutter and slate roof refurbishment with some stone replacement and removal of wet rot. Structural repairs to all the stone elevations were also required following the discovery of subsidence and poor quality workmanship from a previous project some 15 years earlier. The works were carried out in a phased programme and detailed consultations took place with stone conservation and repair specialists, whilst the building was live.
