Following the purchase of a main door garden flat in a Victorian sandstone terrace in 2016, MLA were commissioned to design a rear facing open plan kitchen, dining space which involved a significant structural intervention in the rear stone elevation to create open plan living spaces. A small extension, clad in contrasting Siberian Larch timber with Nordan triple glazed sliding doors was also added to open out access to the south facing garden.

The extension was only one storey high however the project breathed new life into the building creating open plan spaces on the ground floor and additional L shaped sliding doors were added to ensure the new room was flooded with daylight.
